The tendency for seeking knowledge is one of the basic human needs. The study of the scientists’ works is necessary for all people. However, studies have shown that, even among students in our society, the average studying rate is low. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of determining the status of students' study in Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences. The present study was a survey in which data was collected through a questionnaire. The study population consisted of students of Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences. The sample included 300 students drawn of the study population. Finally, the findings showed that 66% of the participants had a high or very high interest rate to study. Although, 41% of participants have studied less than an hour daily. Moreover, 55% of the respondents have only read textbooks, 20% have studied non-textbooks and 23% have read both. In conclusion, this research showed that the average study rate and the motivation to study were low among the students. Accordingly, by using a targeted planning, it may be possible to provide a suitable platform for students to study.
